Décès d’un jeune compatriote à Kumasi (Ghana)
Le Ministère de l’Intégration africaine, des Affaires étrangères et des Sénégalais de l’Extérieur a appris, ce samedi 18 octobre 2025, le décès survenu à Kumasi (République du Ghana), le vendredi 17 octobre 2025, de M. Cheikh Touré.
Les premières investigations menées par les services consulaires indiquent que M. Touré, jeune footballeur sénégalais, aurait été victime d’un réseau d’escroquerie et d’extorsion de fonds.
Selon les informations recueillies par l’Ambassade du Sénégal à Accra, la dépouille du défunt a été déposée à la morgue Ebenezer de Tafo, dans la région d’Ashanti, située à environ 250 km d’Accra.
Les autorités ghanéennes compétentes ont été officiellement saisies afin de diligenter une enquête approfondie sur les circonstances exactes du décès.
Dans ce cadre, deux agents de l’Ambassade seront dépêchés à Kumasi, dès le dimanche 19 octobre 2025, pour assister les autorités locales dans les démarches administratives et judiciaires afin de préparer, en lien avec la famille, le rapatriement de la dépouille au Sénégal dès que les autorisations nécessaires auront été obtenues.
Le Ministère tient à exprimer sa profonde compassion à la famille éplorée et à rassurer que ce dossier fait l’objet d’un suivi attentif.

Death of a young compatriot in Kumasi (Ghana)
The Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad learned, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, of the death of Mr. Cheikh Touré, which occurred in Kumasi (Republic of Ghana) on Friday, October 17, 2025.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the consular services indicate that Mr. Touré, a young Senegalese soccer player, may have fallen victim to a network of fraud and extortion.
According to information gathered by the Embassy of Senegal in Accra, the body of the deceased has been placed at the Ebenezer Morgue in Tafo, in the Ashanti Region, located about 250 km from Accra.
The competent Ghanaian authorities have been officially notified in order to carry out a thorough investigation into the exact circumstances of the death.
In this context, two officers from the Embassy will be dispatched to Kumasi on Sunday, October 19, 2025, to assist local authorities with administrative and judicial procedures, and to prepare, in coordination with the family, the repatriation of the body to Senegal as soon as the necessary authorizations are obtained.
The Ministry wishes to express its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and assures that this matter is being closely monitored.
