Dear readers,
Welcome to the information and communication platform of the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs.
The purpose of this tool is to provide information on the activities of the Department responsible for implementing the foreign policy defined by the President of the Republic.
Backed by its cultural wealth and rooted in the values of freedom and respect for human dignity, Senegal has built its international reputation on, among other things, its democratic tradition, its political stability, its republican institutions and the professionalism of its defence and security forces.
It is therefore only natural that its foreign policy, since its independence in 1960, has been geared towards African integration, the search for peace, good neighbourliness, economic cooperation and the promotion and protection of human rights.
This commitment to universal values has led to active participation in numerous regional and international organisations, including the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
A staunch supporter of multilateralism and a tireless campaigner for pan-Africanism as a means of spurring its diplomatic action, Senegal has been at the origin of numerous initiatives, including the United Nations Security Council's ‘Water, Peace and Security’ agenda, the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) and the Oslo Group on Foreign Policy and Global Health.
Backed by this historic heritage, the Senegalese people strive, on a daily basis, to take Senegal to ever higher and more glorious heights.
Her Excellency,
Mrs Yassine Fall,
Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs
